Privacy Policy

Not legal advice. This page is a plain-language description of what TruckPacks actually does with data, generated as a starting point. It is not a substitute for review by a lawyer, and DAWZO LLC is responsible for confirming this matches how the site is actually run before relying on it.
This Privacy Policy explains what information TruckPacks, operated by DAWZO LLC ("TruckPacks," "we," "us," "our"), collects when you use the TruckPacks planner and the Roadie Truck Pack Challenge game (together, the "Service"), and how that information is used.
1. Information We Collect
Project and case data. Everything you enter on the Project Setup, Case Sheet, and Truck Packs pages — truck dimensions, case names and measurements, row and stack choices — is saved in two places: in your own browser, and online with the project's private link (for example truckpacks.com/?p=K7X4-M2QD-9PLA) on our hosting provider (Netlify), together with any case photos you add (shrunk before saving). The link is a long random code; anyone who has the link can open and change that project, so only share it with people working on the pack. When people work on a project together, the name each person types in is shown to the others in that project. We don't use your project data for anything else and don't sell or share it. A project link nobody opens for 90 days is deleted automatically, together with its photos; you can also delete one at any time with "Delete for everyone" in Projects. The Truck Pack Challenge is never saved online.
Optional AI case-file import. If you use the "Upload Case File" feature and it falls back to AI-assisted extraction, the file you upload is sent to our AI processing provider (OpenAI) solely to extract case numbers, descriptions, and dimensions, and is not retained by TruckPacks afterward. Only upload files you have the right to share, and avoid including any personal or sensitive information in an uploaded file, since removing wheels/orientation/stack data happens locally but the raw file content is transmitted for processing.
Truck Pack Challenge. The Roadie Truck Pack Challenge game runs entirely in your own browser. Completing the Challenge does not send any name, score, or other information to us or to any server — nothing about your play is collected, stored, or displayed publicly.
Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand overall traffic and usage patterns — for example, which pages are visited, how long people stay, general device/browser type, and approximate location derived from IP address. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to do this. We do not combine analytics data with any name or contact information you may have entered elsewhere on the Service. See Google's own privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy for details on how Google handles this data, and Google's opt-out browser add-on if you'd like to opt out of Analytics tracking across sites that use it.
We do not require you to create an account, and we do not collect passwords, email addresses, or payment information anywhere on the Service.
2. How We Use Information
- To operate the Service — most obviously, your locally-stored project data is what the app reads and writes to run the planner at all.
- To understand aggregate traffic and improve the Service over time.
- To keep the Service secure and working as intended.
3. Cookies
TruckPacks itself does not set login or tracking cookies — there's no account system. Google Analytics sets its own cookies in your browser when you visit; you can block or delete these through your browser's cookie settings, which will not affect your ability to use the planner or play the Challenge.
4. Third-Party Services
We rely on a small number of third-party service providers to run the Service: Netlify (hosting and serverless functions), Google Analytics (traffic analytics), and, only when the AI import path is used, OpenAI (case-file extraction). Each of these providers processes data under its own privacy policy and terms.
5. Data Retention
Local project data stays in your browser until you clear it (via your browser settings, or the app's own "New Project"/"Restart Challenge" actions) — we have no copy to retain or delete on our end.
6. Your Choices
- Use "Delete for everyone" in Projects to erase a project and its photos online right away, or simply don't open it for 90 days. Clear your browser's storage to remove the copies and your typed name kept in your browser.
- Use your browser's cookie controls, or Google's opt-out tool linked above, to limit analytics tracking.
7. Children's Privacy
The Service is intended for touring/production crews and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your jurisdiction).
8. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the limited data described above, but no method of storage or transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
10. Contact
Questions about this Privacy Policy can be sent to truckpacks@icloud.com.
